Hello. Newbie here.
I have a Kenmore 70 Series washer that bangs during the first spin cycle while running a delicate load (i.e., the spin operation immediately following the wash cycle, and before the rinse cycle). The banging does not occur during the delicate final spin, nor does it occur at all during a regular (cotton/sturdy) load.
The tub is not out of balance. In fact, if I turn the dial from delicate first spin to regular first spin, the banging immediately goes away.
If I defeat the lid switch, I can see that the agitator spins clockwise, but with each bang, the agitator very briefly turns counterclockwise, then resumes it's clockwise spin.
Would greatly appreciate a diagnosis of what is wrong, and what needs to be repaired. Thank you so very much!
