This Kenmore is 1994 model from what I understand, so I decided to post here instead of "Delux"

I'm about to replace a timer for a friend, this is 1994 70 series. The timer is part # 394652. The model # of this machine is 253. 44303401.

I'm not concerned about replacing the timer itself, but I am a little worried about the dial with this one!
It looks like it might be the timer dial that you have to use needle nose players on the back of the timer in order to remove from the control panel
Can anyine shed some light on this? or am I over thinking this?

P.S
I unscrewed the dial, to have a quick look, and there a clear plastic piece under it?

Hi Stan, I always loved the white control panels on those machines. once you unscrew the knob, you should be able to pull the plastic piece behind the knob right off (it shouldn't give too much resistance) once you do you should see 2 I believe 5/16" (they may be 1/4") screws that hold the timer in place
Hope that helps,
Scott

Loved these Kenmores with the Ultra Clean cycle and independent speed selector.  Notice that slow agitation is used on the 'Regular' setting.

Aside:  I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that machines made in the mid 1990s are eligible for inclusion in the Imperial forum.

Gee, maybe that isn't my dad I keep seeing in the bathroom mirror, LOL.
