Kenmore 80 series mystery part

Opened this new to me Kenmore and found this part sitting behind control panel
I can’t figure what it goes to ?
But I’m not in my right mind to even do this repair

That is a hinge for the control panel.  It attaches to the top rear of the control panel and the top edge of the back panel (I can't re-call the specific orientation, but a parts list will show it clearly).  It allows the control panel to swing up away from the cabinet so you can remove the cabint hold down clips.  This allows you to keep the control panel attached to the machine while diagnosing problems.

Adding to what Alan said there are two of these one on each side maybe the other ones still installed so you can see where it goes. It just clips in and there’s one screw that holds it in place.

The machine will work without it in place, but the control panel will be loose at the top.
