Hi guys,
When I was a kid, my father had a late 90's Kenmore 80 Series Washer. Sadly many years ago, it had been stored away and eventually scrapped, I never got the serial number or anything. One of the things that I absolutely recall about the machine was its loud 2 speed motor, it was definitely not a Quiet Pak. For many years I've wanted to find, hear, and recall that memorable sound of this particular 2 speed motor. And I recently found it!! That wonderful sound that took me back to my childhood, the motor I just knew existed.
If anyone has experience or knowledge about this motor, if they had a reputation, a certain spec, or serial number break or anything. I'd love to hear about it. I'm not sure that I'll find another one of these machines with this motor, but at least I can rest knowing that it wasn't a bad motor or that I was bananas, LOL.
Based on what I observe, this motor was common on machines that offered no Quiet Pak, and speed controls: Delicate, Regular, Heavy Duty, and Hang Dry. That's what my fathers machine had.
