Where are grease ports that need greased after several years of use? I replaced the motor coupler a few weeks ago and was then told I need to oil/grease the ports because after time it just needs refilled.

Like places that oil or grease goes in. I'm forgetting the correct word for it right now. Like where you might use a grease gun

As far as I know, on DirectDrive Whirlpool built machines like yours, the transmissions are permanently sealed systems that shouldn't need oil replacements or refills during their lifetime. The motor coupler that you replaced is typically the most common part to go bad, which is a good thing, because it absorbs some of the daily wear and impact between the transmission and motor. So long as your machine is agitating and neutral draining/spinning properly and there is no odd noise or smell or oil on the floor, you should be right as rain! Hope that helps. :)

Ok I knew I couldn't find anything looking like a grease fitting. There was what seemed like a different noise this morning on the last spin. Thanks when I remembered that I needed to find out about the maintenance greasing. I just made a mental note to listen closely when I wash another load. It might have been described as a low whine with a bit of grind to it. I'll keep an eye on it.
