That is an absolutely gorgeous specimen of the best of the 1972 Kenmore 60/600 series group.

There were five models in the 60 series run that year, and my Mom had the model just under this, without the second supplemental knob (which is a volume adjustment I believe for the cycle signal) as ours had a non-adjustable signal. The 60 series machines in the early 1970s were very feature laden, this one having a drum light, a full width door (on a 60!) auto Fabric Master auto dry, Wrinkle Guard and the cycle signal. There wasn't much more you could add to the better models other than console lights and the electronic sensors.

This dryer may not have seen much use as the buyer's guide on the left appears to be in very good condition. This dryer and the matching washer are on my dream machines list. I found them to be exceptionally good looking machines back then, and still do.

I just wished the seller would have posted a picture of the timer area.

Well I have the 1972 Sears Cat, so when I have time I would look it up!

That model is in both the 1972 catalogs; you'll enjoy checking it out! All of the models in those years were pretty neat - I especially like that big control knob in all chrome. Ours had the chrome center, but the outer part was white.

By the way, if youw want to see a matching washer, sort of, check out picture number 9 in the Aberdeen Farm, just to the left of the center in the shot.

There were two washer matches - the 1972 standard capacity machine (five cycles, three levels, five temps, Roto-Swirl agitator) and a 1973 Large capacity, same thing except it had infinite water levels. The first version of the large cap. had the mondo Roto-Swirl for 18lb. machines, and the second got the revised centerpost and the Penta-Vane.
