70s KM D&M DW
That thing should be left to slowly deteriorate without ever being connected to water or plugged in.
OR, buy it and try using it everyday till you need a new kitchen floor in a few months from all the leaks and then put it in the crusher, this was about the lowest point of quality for D&M DWs.
My partner bough a new condo in 1980 and it had one of these in it, that thing would not clean or dry dishes worth a darn even with the water heater turned to max [ over 150F ] I put in a new WP and it dried better on energy saver dry than the D&M did on heated dry to say nothing of greater cleaning and capacity.
I sold the nearly new D&M to a women who owned a rental house, we did three service calls on it the first year and replaced the POS in less than two years, I learned my lesson, the next nearly new D&M I saw went straight to the crusher, I was not going to ruin my reputation by selling junk.

But anyway, Kenmore had D&M made dishwashers from the 60s to the 90s. At one point in the 90s it was stated that there was a Kenmore appliance in 1 of every 2 homes. That's significant. They didn't get that kind of coverage by selling unreliable merchandise.
My aunt had a brand new 1972 built-in dishwasher that lasted over ten years without any service calls. And then went for another 8 years before replacing it. We inherited her 1968 portable Kenmore in 1972 and it lasted without servicing until 1982, when the roto-rack feeder hose needed replacement. Very easy. Other's I know also had Kenmores without problems.
And I'm not even biased as someone who works in the industry.

Hi Keith, I am not biased, I am experienced, The first thing you learn when studying statistics in college is one, two or even 5 or 6 experiences are not statically accurate, I have heard many stories about someone that had a crappy appliance that worked well for them for many years, there are people out there that loved their Yugo automobiles but it does not make up for the majority of appliances that were faulty.
The loading dock at the local Sears service center used to be piled with D&M built KM DWs that the Service department was taking back because of excessive service calls and rusted and leaking tanks, these often had to be held till insurance adjusters could look at them and assess blame as to who was going to pay for damage to the customers home.
Sears was very successful selling millions of major appliances, but their DW was a sore point for many years, by 1984 the majority of Kenmore DWs were built by WP and GE also filled in with the lower end and builder KMs till WCI-Frigidaire trashed the last of the terrible D&M designed DWs and came out with the tall-tub FD models with a filter for KMs lower end DWs.

It's great that you've worked repairing appliances and have experience working in the field. There are many who appreciate that including myself. I have experience as well repairing and selling appliances as well as designing my own.
This website isn't about competition of what the best and worst appliances were at a certain time in history. If it were, most of the stuff talked about here would have been lost a long time ago because we know how poorly designed a lot of it was. In general the older the worse the quality as humans tend to perfect products and techniques as they get more experienced.
This sites about memories as are most websites or groups that collect or obsess over a given product. Whether one works in the industry, is a hobbyist, or simply has a passing interest and thinks something is "neat"; one doesn't need or appreciate others telling them their interests are somehow undesirable. Day to day 'real world' does that enough, as you may know.
While your negativity on this post and others doesn't bother me in the least; it discounts the good advice and helpful information that you can impart. Younger more sensitive people may be hurt by crude words. Also, I've been tallying several posts of yours that had blatant inaccuracies in them and you come off as smug. Again, that discounts any good advice that you may have. I hope this is helpful.

Not sure but...
I remember the house I grew up in was stocked with Magic Chef appliances circa 1975 with the dishwasher being D&M made. I want to say around 1987ish my dad decided to purchase a new machine as a surprise for my mom and purchased a TOL Kenmore with an electronic panel and I think it too was D&M built. I don’t remember what the tub was made of but I know the racks were rusting in no time flat. I’ve never seen another one of those machines since.

3.
