Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Wow, this thread has two of the machines that were on my street at the "new house" in 1961.  The 1959 LK Combo was next door and then down the street was the 1963 LK 800 in yellow.  My ocusin had the KM 700 like Gansky1 has and one of my oldest sister's boyfriend's parents had the 1963 Kenmore 70.

The washer posted in Reply # 15 above is the exact Kenmore model my parents got in 1999. The only difference is theirs was white. I loved that washer.

I love all of the photos. This is definitely a fun thread.

Have a good one,
James

Hey Jed,

THANKS for the awesome comment. I'll get a bunch of pics added to this thread for sure. I have some great ones that are on my computer at work (which may have to wait until Monday) but for now, here's a few.

First, no thread with my washers would be complete without the master washer that started me in rebuilding and now collecting - my 1979 model Kenmore 80 series. Bought for my sister used in 1989, AND now residing in my laundry room after being the first washer I restored in 2008 after finding AW.org. Pictured here in my garage at the second set of connections I have, James and I simply refer to this machine as the "'79-eighty"

Here is my 1986 Kenmore 70 washer

Also purchased new in 1986, and is the newest belt-drive washer that I am aware of in our wonderful club. I adore this machine. It is out of service as it needs centerpost bearing seals, but I'd have to disconnect the '79 to put it back into use, so I'm in no hurry (no way it's going in the garage).

I have almost never shared pics of this machine on the site

But here's a lid open shot.

I'm thinking of having a second washer box added to the laundry room so I can have both the 79 and this machine connected inside the house.

PS - don't ask about the nick in the console - I shuddered for weeks when I did that....am going to have a buddy at Dent Wizard fix it.
