I received a Kirby Classic I CR having the original (avocado) green bag. I know there are many members here that are also vacuum cleaner collectors. I have viewed and read many of the posts in vacuumland as well. Is the cloth bag detachable from the "santi-emptor" for washing? Is it a difficult procedure to accomplish and to reassemble? The zipper for the internal bag "scraper seems to be corroded closed (aluminum oxide). What can I do to make the zipper functional again? The original brush roll and the light bulb are the only things I have replaced at this point. A local vac shop sells the conversion kit to use the disposable bags. I plan to polish the machine in the near future, and have read the posts on how to do that. I have the Rug Renovator, and Handi-butler attachments and they appear to never have been used along with the waxer bar/holder. The vinyl hose covered hose has become stiff and fear of it becoming brittle and splitting. Would Armor-All or some other protectant, be good to use?
