Well, after some instruction from Reggie, I found the serial number for my Kirby DS50, I think. The number I found is 135556. If I am to send my Kirby in for a much needed rebuild, how much will it cost? Where can I find a manual to paste my serial number in? My Kirby doesn't have a Sani-Emptor, and from what I've heard, it costs a LOT to buy one new from Kirby, but not as much as if you already have one on the Kirby. So, does anyone have an extra that I could buy or have? It doesn't have to be in wonderful shape, I could clean it a little and pass it off on my Kirby to the rebuild center to have them shine up or replace it. Thanks a bunch!!!

Kirby emptor

Jamie,
A Sani-emptor wholesale is $33.09 for emptor ONLY. If you need the base plate and bag protector that would add to the cost. As far as I know all parts are available.

Make sure when you do find a manual, you make a copy of the last page, then carefully write in the serial number, (white out the number that may be there unless you can find a manual that is blank), and then make ANOTHER copy to send in with it. You have to be careful with this.

One of the VCCC members with a large inventory of Kirby parts is Chuck Chatham. He can reached at Chatham Vacuum at 570-522-8116. If you call him, let him know that I suggested you call and I'm sure he will help you if he has any parts.

Good luck!
