Yes your right and i'm a little miffed right now. When he said he put the wrong rack in and said it would be OK I never gave it a second thought. I thought there wouldn't be a difference. It wasn't until a couple of the guys on here pointed that rack out to me not being the right one.Then it hit me that is probably why the plates rub against the top rack at times.This is my very first kitchen aid guys. I've only seen one in my life that was my grandmothers and even though i'd get into it and like to spin the arm around on the bottom of the tub. That's all I remember of it. I was like 4or5 years old. I remember it being white with a lot of buttons I liked to push.Then always getting in trouble for that. That's it though. That's the first and last time I ever saw a kitchen aid let alone the inside of one. I always heard they were the best dishwashers out of all the other brands. I saw the link on someones posting here redirected to ebay and there it was. I really liked it,it looked perfect. heard kitchen aid was the best so i bought it. I thought i was really getting a good deal. I also thought it being old and good shape that making it worth all the more.From now on before I buy something I'll get on here pick some of your brains and see if i'm making making right decision if that's OK.I've learned a lot of things about this dishwasher now. So even though I didn't sell it I've learned a lot about it which I think is a great thing. Anyways Thanks to all of you for giving me the heads up on things and taking the time to explain it all. Hi DJ,

I remember the eBay ad you are talking about. The seller is based out of Brookfield, Wisconsin, and has another black portable Kitchenaid dishwasher (Imperial model) for sale currently for $1,395.90 for pick-up only.

I actually sent an offer to the seller for the dishwasher you bought (offered him $650 since I couldn't go any higher and had to figure out shipping to my home in Virginia). The seller is very rude. Sorry you had such a terrible time with him, and hope no one goes through that again.

In case anyone comes across him on eBay, his seller ID is frezloh262. I'm really surprised that he has 100% positive reviews from 877 sales since he is so rude to deal with and all of his items are extremely overpriced.

I remember that dishwasher

Hi I remember the black imperial....I really liked that one and don't know why I didn't bid on it.I did my kitchen over, I have like a dark and deep gray slate looking floor and black and stainless steel Stove and frig. The black would have fit in good but like I said I don't know why I didn't go for that one. The yellow is in beautiful shape i'm not exaggerating like new but it sticks out like a sore thumb with all that black.

Yeah I found out from a lot of people on here I way over paid on the dishwasher.Thanks for the info on the seller, I forgot the name. Hey and I wanted to pass this along to you... I don't know how much you buy but if you ever need a mover there is a company out of Mass. K.C. Movers, his email is : [email protected]. The guys are very good about wrapping and blanket wrapping your appliance and he's really reasonable with his prices. I've bought way to many washers and dishwashers from all over the US and they've always moved them for me.Thanks again for the info. I'll watch out for that.Have a great night!

Thanks for the info about the movers!  It's not uncommon for someone here to have an appliance moved from one end of the country to the other in order to save it.  Says the person who had an entire GE Wonder Kitchen moved from Texas to just over the Vermont/Quebec border.... LOL

Your so lucky. I've wanted to get my hands on one. There was one on craigslist months back I could never get the owner to respond.It wasn't sold...I couldn't figure out why he never get back to me. Well I bet your enjoying it and I love the Frigidaire.
