Very nice dishwasher!
If you are not used to the vintage Kitchenaid dishwahers, this will wash just fine for you. The older Hobart design used much more water, at much a larger force.
It is just that this model will take longer, with different heating modes, and with less water.
You will be suprised how it cleans!
Everyone that I know that has this model, and same pump design is very happy with the cleaning ability!
Do keep us posted! I am sure that you will put it through the test!

There are so few new DW-ers that are of any appeal to me.
I'm difficult when it comes to good racking and overall features.

So far I am very impressed with the Kitchen Aid. I really do like the loading flexibility with both dishwasher racks. The top rack goes up/down 2 inches. In the lower position there is 11" in both the upper and lower, in the upper position there is 13" in the lower and 9" in the upper rack. Being on vacation I haven't done much cooking this week so haven't had a chance to try out the proscrub yet.

The instruction book doesn't give the times for each part of the cycle but here are the stages for each cycle and the total time for each cycle
Heavy Duty - pre-wash, main wash, rinse, final heated rinse, dry - minimum time 95 min.
Normal - pre-wash, main wash, pre-rinse, final heated rinse, dry - minimum time 77 min.
Light - rinse, main wash, pre-rinse, final heated rinse, dry, minimum time 72 min.

I'll have to time the dry cycle next time.

Robert, my Kenmore Elite TT dry cycle is 34 or 36 minutes. I'll time it tonight when I run it.

thanks guys for your response. Yes, countryguy I had seen those cycle times in the sears store today. The reason for me asking was, when I looked at the Kenmore equilivent, it said that the cycle time was 110 mins. So........... my mind went to work. trying to figure out how much time it spent on each cycle. prewash, main, purge, rinse. And, thinking that if I have the same machine, probably, i would do hi temp wash, sani rinse, (and that probably adding a rinse) how that would stack up to my bosch. Which runs 108 mins. that's all--just that--so i have no other thoughts than that--also questioning--did i make the right choice in the $1000 catorgory. Appunt. you truely are a gem and I love you thank you too for your imput--inrestred in both you're imputs.

Robert, I've sat in front of my Kenmore Elite with stop watch for every load since I got it in May. The longest wsh with Smart Wash, 140 or 145 degrees main wash, sani-rinse and heated dry was 148 minutes. the same scenario using normal Wash cycle was 166 minutes, which includes a full 2nd rine insted of a purge. Aww shucks, blush, thanks Robert. You made my day!!!

I finally got a chance to time the dry cycle and yes it is still 30 min.

I haven't run the Heavy Duty Cycle yet, just the light and normal cycles. The normal cycle, without using high temp. scrub runs at about 77 minutes, just as the instruction booklet said...and the dishes have come out clean with no deposits remaining on them. Note also, that I never pre-rinse either and sometimes the dishes will sit for a day or two before I run a full load.
