Looks like you have to remove the Handle Trim (#30) from the control panel to change the insert. Indicates 2 screws behind the latch handle. Hope this helps

Wow all that work just for the trim? The entire control panel has many screws along the top. I am a little hesitant because I don't want to break anything. I wish there was a youtube video of this. I did not see any. I will have to think about it. Thanks for all your help : )
Its just four tiny screws at the top and one on either end from from the back side of the door, and of course the handle and the two screws on the trim piece you are trying to replace, I am sure I have done this hundreds of times with no problem.
OK, I will give it a try. I love this machine, I think it is old enough to be made by HOBART in Ohio. I hate every new appliance made today. They don't work and don't last.
So joeypete, I remove the cast chrome handle, then remove the two black screws for the handle trim, then the four screws on top and two screws on sides. Then open the panel and I will be able to slide the trim in and out?
Yeah, you have to take off the handle before you can get the panel off. The 2 screws are behind the panel on the inner door. They are a good size so you can't miss them.
