First I'm not sure if this should go here or the Imperial forum, BUT, I've seen a lot of posts over the past few years about Kitchen Aid washers with the turquoise agitator, but can only find one video of one. And it was empty with a low water level. Now, I know the KA agitator has bigger fins at the bottom which is why they use the slower agitation speed for the regular cycle and the extra slow for gentle. But I'm curious to see how well it turns a full load over on the regular cycle on a KA washer, as compared to a Kenmore/Whirlpool with the faster wash speed. I'm surprised no one has posted a video of one yet.

Yeah, your right....no videos.......

but from personal experience........IT KICKS MAJOR FREAKIN ASS!!!!!!!!

I won't have a direct drive without one....

for large loads, it turns and cleans very very well on normal fast agitation.....

did I mention.....IT KICKS MAJOR FREAKIN ASS!!!!!!!!

think of your regular agitator creating a tidal wave....and the bigger one turns a tsunami....BIG TIME!!!

for gentle speed, the load turns over really nice, especially for permpress work pants and shirts.....compared to the smaller base DA.....

and of course use gentle for any water level lower than half........

Get one and try it....you won't be sorry.....

I will try to get a video in a few weeks, Brian wants to see it in his machine, and he knows how to post a video....

Martin, when you use it, do you use it on what KA considers fast speed but is slow speed on a Kenmore? I would imagine that large of an agitator with the fast speed on a Kenmore would really get things moving, but as Larry pointed out, fast speed on a Kenmore with the KA agitator could burn up the motor and tranny.

Love my KitchenAid washer & dryers

The KA with the big fins at the base of the dual action agitator uses a 3 speed motor and "Normal" agitation is the medium speed on the motor. It does not agitate on high speed. I have one and it is very good at both moving the load and being gentle to fabrics. I had tearing of things in the Duet but never in the KA. It handles really big loads; I used to wash the king linens with my permapress clothes for the week with the socks in one load. Another nice thing is that the deep rinse on the regular cycle (didn't use the others very much) is 4 minutes of agitation so everything gets a good dunking and flushing. It's still the machine I use for blankets because the tub is so big.

Kitchenaid Washer

I have looked for an older Kitchenaid Set with the torquoise agitator but they are either badly abused and overpriced or my timing is off.

A good video would be great!
