Great behind-the-scenes article.

ah yes

The fabulous 50's, where all consumer appliances revolved around and looked forward to the future, even if those appliances were painted some pink and black hue so much in vogue then.
I do see issues with the so-called control center going bonkers however, much like the HAL 9000 computer from 2001, A Space Odyssey fame when Madge wants to bake a simple cake.
"Sorry Madge, but I can't let you do that, the recipe calls for margarine, not butter and that's way too much half and half you are requesting".
The control center will then abort the entire process and dump all assembled ingredients in the trash...
The TV screen will then immediately tune to the latest Jack LaLane show and the control center will exclaim "here Madge, you really need to follow some of Jack's routines"
Isn't AI a wondrous thing?

Back in the 50's and 60's the future was wide open and a wonderful place - anything was possible.  Now the future is not a good thing, more a thing to be dreaded. Either we quit dreaming, or achieved "the dream kitchen"  When was the last time recently anyone has offered a kitchen of tomorrow?
