Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

The original didn't look bad to me... a lot of people would have been perfectly happy with that... although the black and white was a little jarring. But the remodel is even better... much less jarring... and the bar... you can't have too much counter space in a kitchen.

Are those 12 foot ceilings? They look great, too. Nothing like a 12 foot ceiling to chase away the claustrophobia!

Malcolm, the "Wow Factor" is in all the pictures you posted! Beautiful job! Would you please tell us a little more about the backsplash material and the undercabinet lighting?
Arthur

Backsplash and lighting

The backsplash is glass tile in an offset brick pattern. Tile grouting is clear with little glass beads in it, so it sparkles. The under cabinet lighting is LED. Turned out to be a lot brighter than expected. The ceiling is a 15 foot vaulted ceiling. The range is a slide in induction range. The ovr microwave is a GE Advantium. Refrigerator is a GE French door model with dual ice makers. The floor is a polished stone floor I installed myself. The sink is a full stainless 16 gauge 36" wide unit. I switched from gas to induction because the gas stove was terribly inefficient and a pain to keep clean. Induction is faster and much more efficient method of cooking.

Thanks for the feedback. It was a big job and took a lot of contractor coordination but the end result was far better than I ever envisioned.

Malcolm, TYVM for the info re: tile and lighting. I like well illuminated work area's. You hit the perfect balance. Happy Holidays to You, Tate and Allie!

I'm sure you're going to love that kitchen for many years. I understand where you're coming from now about ease of cleaning and efficiency on the cooktop.

And with your new cookware I'm sure you'll be putting it thru the paces.

I've also heard that those Advantium's are really good.

Evidently you've been on Santa's nice list and not the naughty one and he came a little early for you.

Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!

Have Yourself a Great & Happy Holiday!!

Excellent choice of colors

Malcolm,
Most excellent remodeling choices. I may steal some of your choices for when I do my kitchen over. Thanks for sharing!

Enjoy using your new kitchen for the holidays.

Stunning!! I love your choices. We are planning on putting in new counters and sink. Quite a transformation. Your faucet is just what I'm looking for. What company is it from? Is it a pull down spray? If so, I like how it is concealed. What material did you pick for the counters. They're beautiful!

Countertops and Faucet

The countertops are granite.

Here is a link to the pull down faucet on Amazon!

Malcolm,
That's just what I'm looking for in a faucet! Thank you for the link.
Those counters are beautiful. I like the black, white and grey. Still in the what materials I want to use vs. budget phase.
You'll love the induction, btw. We are going on two years with it. Much easier to regulate and clean up after than gas.
Great job!
Todd

Very nice remodel Malcolm. I like the high ceiling. Is your kitchen in a house/condo? What material did you choose for the cabinets? Any particular reason why you chose granite over quartz for the countertop? I also noticed that in the before pics there are 3 electrical plates on the backsplash behind the range but on the after pic there are only 2....did you get rid of something?

Looks great...

Was this remodel done by anyone here in Atlanta metro you care to recommend?...
I'm in the midst of a renovation on an investment property, which has essentially turned into a clusterf--k...
Congrats...

Very tastefully done. Love the floor, the bar, sink and a 15 ft ceiling in a kitchen? I am guessing that the darker cabinets are even more stunning in that large space. Have you installed flooring before ?

Good timing - with the holidays, your guests , if they haven't seen it yet, will enjoy the transformation.

Love it all - Enjoy!!

Very nice remodel!  I'll bet you're loving those extra cabinets and counter space, that was brilliant.

What induction range did you go with?  Have you had any difficulties making the switch?  I would have to find a replacement for my Whirley-Pop popcorn popper before I could make the switch entirely from thermal.

That is a beautiful Moen faucet, some of the domestic plumbing manufacturers have made great strides in bling and style in the last few years.  They seemed to lag behind many of the European brands and probably lost some market share so it's good to see they're back.
