This auction is for an early 23 series Superba. The later 23 series had a taller rectangular control panel similar to the 22 series Superba Architect model. There are a few clues that differentiate this one from a 22. The trim around the door latch handle is black instead of chrome, the indicator lights are Heating Water, Washing/Rinsing, Dry, Cycle Complete, and Please Wait instead of the 21 and 22 series' Heating Water, Wash, Rinse, Dry, Rinsed only. And if you look in the bottom of the tub, you can see a strainer covering the entire sump, indicating the modified Whirlpool PowerClean pump (with a KA Gold Seal 1/2 hp motor) rather than the Hobart-designed SureClean pump which dated back to 1983.
The Please Wait light came on when you pushed the Cancel/Drain button, and stayed on until the machine turned off. Evidently, enough people pushed Cancel and then immediately selected another cycle without letting the Cancel/Drain cycle play out to make the Please Wait light necessary.
And apparently not enough people realized that all indicators off and no noise from the machine meant that the cycle was complete, so a Cycle Complete light was deemed necessary.
Overall, a really excellent machine. I have to say, Whirlpool was a good steward of the KitchenAid dishwasher for about 10 years after they acquired it--everything they did really made them better yet.
And then they dumped it all in 1997. Oy.
