Ok - so I have a Kitchenaid blender and I use the thing EVERY day and at times two times per day....The firs link is the EXACT blender that I have. The problem is the glass jar screws onto this plastic piece that fits on the base and it will sometimes leak through the blade - I called Kitchenaid with NO success the first time, but the second time the CR said she would send me a new blade assembly. I asked if it had been redesigned and she said she didn't think so. I asked if that was all that was available because I hate it......she said yes....... So......I'm looking on Amazon and notice the exact SAME base with a polycarb one piece pitcher that is sitting on a base exactly like the one I have, but they say it won't fit.......Look at the first link of the blender I have, then the second link with the polycarb pitcher. It looks to be like this redesigned pitcher WILL fit. Does anyone have this blender?

No Luck

I have the polycarb blender and bought one for each of my kids as well as several friends. The bases are slightly different on the glass models and they aren't interchangeable. The only blender of the bunch to have leaking issues was my daughter in law who put in the dishwasher regularly. The blade assembly can easily be tightened using a crescent wrench and a pair of pliers making replacement unnecessary. Shopkichenaid.com has closeout models at 59.00. I have also snagged a few off shopgoodwill.com. Good luck and don't give up. Google fix leaking Kitchenaid blender and you find links to home repair.

I called Kitchenaid ONE more time and this time she wanted the model and serial # of my blender and put me on hold and said she would check...Came back and said after checking that the polycarb would in fact fit and that she would send it......I guess we will see. I've called three times (which I never do something like that) it's just that I use this so much - they have been really nice each time.

I hope KA has solved your problem. I have this KA blender, and it performs a wide array of tasks beautifully. It used to be the top-rated blender at Cook's Illustrated / America's Test Kitchen, but due to the number of readers who complained of leaking blade assemblies and cracked bases, they no longer recommend it.

I was taken aback by the inability to remove the blade assembly from the polycarb jar, but it goes into the dishwasher without a problem. I don't use my blender as often as you do, so I'm hoping mine will last a good long time.

Kelly--- Are the blenders you purchased like the one pictured here?

I have one just like Kelly posted but in white. The carafe is glass.

Mine was rescued from the trash. It has either a open winding in the motor or one of the phases on the driver board is dead. It runs but sometimes stops in a dead spot and won't start again.

I suppose I should look at it before I can't get parts for it and it becomes a donor itself...

I found this video

how to repair the coupler in a newer style Kitchenaid blender; not that I need this repair, but I got to see if this was the same style coupler as the current blender I have and it looks identical.

I don't think I'm going to put this in the dishwasher just to be safe. She called me back today and told me they were on a two week back order and I responded to her, "I hope that's not a bad thing."

I watched this guy do this repair and something tells me it would NOT be as easy as it looks to do what he does in this video.
