Kitchenaid custom 21 dishwasher (Boonville)

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

My parents had this model...

I called it a "derivative", a term we used at WCI...
Notice it doesn't have the China Guard...and no temp boost either...
It didn't clean well at all, unless you washed the dishes first...
My Mother complained it wouldn't take peanut butter off a knife...so she washed the dishes herself, and used the Light/China cycle to rinse and dry...
It was purchased at a chain in Atlanta known as Roberd's...
They sold appliances as well as furniture...

newbie question

That brings up the question, then....recently, someone purchased a Kitchenaid 21 it didn't look like this one...
I think...maybe I'm wrong...but I thought some others here thought it was a good unit -

Were there subsets of the model 21 such that, you could have a incarnation of the model 21 that wasn't as good as another model 21?

This was a builder's model that was bare bones that capitalized on the KitchenAid brand name and reputation. SteveT has discussed this I do believe.
