Hello everyone!
Have a question about the soap cups on the KA's.
I want to replace the little washer / gasket's that are in the cup to stop small drips.
Is there a trick to getting the metal thingy that holds the cup together? I can't get them out for anything. I am assuming that it is just years of detergent that is causing this.
Wondering if anyone has a trick to getting these off, so the cup can come apart.
Thanks!
Brent

Thanks guys.
The issue is that they are stuck!
I think that I am going to try some WD40 and see if that works or not.
As far as the gasket's go....I am going to use some that I found at Lowes that looks perfect for this.
I have so many of these dual cups that are in great shape, but drip. No way I am going to spend $55.00 for a detergent cup.

Brent ,
I had this same trouble in my KDS 21. I simply soaked the whole thing in hot water overnight and problem was solved. The trouble was that liquid detergent had seeped into the cover hinges over time. Needless to say, no more liquid in the KitchenAid, powder only. The problem has never come back, and it has been a few years. Hope this helps.

Hi Brent, I would try heat as others had said, like soaking in very hot water for 10 minutes then try to pull those pins out.

I too had a similar problem with my KA(KUDS220T4). The prewash compartment would not freely open and close. I simply filled the main wash compartment, closed it and then put detergent in the prewash(which would dump directly into the tub upon closing the door). When the serviceman came to repair my Maytag Neptune(remember all those recalls with the washer not spinning and the replacement of the board and wax motor----Don't get me started on that one again!), I asked him to take a look at my KA dishwasher detergent cup. When he took off the front panel, he too discovered that is was 'gummed up', probably from a brief time of using liquid detergent. He simply cleaned that junk out and VIOLA~!.......the dispenser was working like brand new. And there was no charge for that service either! I will definitely use that repairman again should anything else in my home need attentive prompt service.

P.S. Make the torrential rain go away here in CT.

Thanks everyone!
I will try the hot water, and then the WD40 if the soaking does not work.
I will check with Fox on Monday about the account Greg. They never told me about it.
