Hey everyone,
Can someone give me a weight on this dishwasher model?
I’m having it shipped and I need the weight. I tried looking for it but can’t remember the model and I’m pressed for time.

Thanks,
Blake

DW itself is around 150 pounds, hopefully they will handle the crate carefully, KA DWs of this vintage damage very easily, I would have liked to see a bigger crate with some serious impact absorbing material at the bottom etc.

I would have the crate marked FRAGILE GLASS all over it.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I will see if he can put fragile on the box. He said that he build the crate so that the dishwasher could not move in the box and that he protected the face of the dishwasher with bubble wrap. I have a bad feeling the sides will be damaged from the crate, but I don't think the guy will do anything else to protect it. Being its in PA, its a bit far for me to go and pick up.

I don't think he did any of that, so maybe I just might cancel the shipment, call him and tell him keep the Paypal for the price of the dishwasher and move on LOL

My 2 cents

You might get lucky. I say roll the dice and take delivery. If he can immobilize the wash arm, great. If its too late, that will just add to the suspense. Worst case scenario is you end up with a parts machine.

I considered rolling the dice but the issue is being the machine alone weighs 150lbs UPS will change it to freight giving me a total of almost $500 in shipping. Unless one of you guys have an idea or two. Sometimes you gotta walk away LOL [this post was last edited: 12/3/2017-06:31]

UPS

is not the only game in town.. Have you tried using FedEx Ground or any of the larger freight carriers? Also, UPS does have actual freight service as well so you may want to call these vendors and see what they can do for you. The item is crated and ready to go so they won't have a problem picking it up. That's what they do for a living.

Also, there is a particular party that does many members favors by picking up their machines when she(I believe) is in the particular area so you may want to put out those feelers and post a new request. Probably best in the Super Forum.

Rust

Today I unboxed the KitchenAid and the guy wasn’t honest. There are two rust spots inside the dishwasher and after spending $550 to buy and ship I’m a little depressed. I really had my hopes up on this one.

Don't take it too much to heart, luv!

Have given up expecting any long distance purchase to arrive and be exactly as seller described. Especially when dealing with CL or something else outside of eBay.

As one knows the heartache, best thing to do now is make some lemonade from those lemons. Long as the machine is in working condition with no leaks am sure you'll find a way to deal with the rust issues.

When my Mobile Maid arrived it had two rather large holes in the Plastisol lining, one had eaten right through to the outer tub. Patched things up and the thing has been running ever since. No, it's not picture perfect, but anyone who is that nosey to look inside my dishwasher and comment really isn't someone I'd want to be around anyway. *LOL*
