Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

No

This is made by Whirlpool from the mid 90's! I had this same machine and it was terrible at cleaning and has a very short wash cycle.

22series Superba!

Yep.. made by Whirlpool, but last of the Hobart designed pumping systems. The 21 and 22's shared the same pumps with the all metal disposer in the pump. The 23's used the WP powermodule pumps. They are not interchangeable due to a smaller diameter hole in the tank of the 23's
I never had a problem with the cleaning results of the 22 that I put in our Kitchen in 2001. It replaced our 18 which has made its way down to Florida with us. I did dislike the single rinse in the cycles.
You still cannot beat a 3 rinse 18 series machine for cleaning and rinsing. Plus the last of the true 180 degree sani rinse temps.
The link takes you to the machine above's use and care guide and spells out what goes on in each cycle.

Losing it!

I just realized that this unit did have the double rinses in the normal and soak and scrub cycles. We usually used the normal with sani rinse . I remember that that was the reason why I did not make the machine into a straight KDS21 which I had the parts for..I didn't like the single rinse.
SOrry, there...at my age, You know the drill!

They tried to chince on the rinse!

This did have two rinses, but one after each was period ( W,R,W,R)thus only one final rinse. That's the only thing I dislike about it!

cheap for parts

We bought a house with a KDS-16C (what does the "C" stand for anyway) and the lower rack was really rusted out.... so I just bought a similar machine to yours for $10 (works fine) to get a bottom rack and utensil holder. I think it is a 23 series Superba. (Model YKUDS230B0) I'm pretty sure this is a Whirlpool machine. It does say Made In USA.

Sure Is a WP

Yes, this was the last Hobart Style machine and also had the Power Module pump system in it. The next series was the 24 series and it was a complete Whirlpool clone except that all the models came with a Stainless Steel tank and door.
The styling of the control panel was such that it was the same dimensions as any drawer front so that it would seem to blend in better with the cabinetry. These were the same units that they built their first "Architectural" series on with that same matching idea to the drawer sizes.
The Insinkerators of the same vintage still retained the more classic control panels like the previous Kitchenaid-ISE machines but also had the Power module pumps in them.
The Classic 3000 series from ISE were the last ones marketed by ISE.
