Where are current KA food processor made ? I'm not aware if they have something to do with whirlpool like big KA appliances. As they are strong & well built, I guess they haven't ... but only heaven knows

I have two KitchenAid processors,

and I am very impressed with both.

I have a 5 cup (French built, no longer offered,) and a Chinese built 12 cup unit.

I have had the 5 cupper for a few years, and a kind friend just sent me the 12 cupper.

Even though it is built in China, the quality seems just as good as the French built unit, and the capacity is wonderful.

A feature I really LOVE in the 12 cup one is the separate lidded plastic box for all the removable parts. This one, the KFP750, comes with a 2mm slicing disc, a 4 mm slicer, and the shredding disc, along with the Steel Knife ("S" blade," and a plastic bread blade.

May 2009's Consumer Reports liked the KFP750, and considered it a "CR Best Buy."

I made my carrot cake in it for Saturday's Book Group potluck, and it came out very well.

Just for the heck of it, I got a selection of processor cookbooks from the library, and the best one is still Jean Anderson's <U>Process This!) which is available in paperback.

My biggest disappointment with the 750s instruction book is the scarcity of recipes. They are appealing, but not numerous.

I have an older Cuisinart, a DLC-10E, but I accidentally destroyed the lid, expanded feed tube, and small feed tube. I would love to replace the parts, but getting the parts, and the work bowl (needed, according to the Cuisinart help desk person) would cost nearly as much as a whole new machine! I just don't want to discard a perfectly good motor base and blades.....

The KitchenAid machines I have are at least equal to the Cuisinart, if not better.

I could not imagine cooking on a regular basis without a food processor.

I hope this answered some of your questions!

Hi Favorit,

In Australia the Big Kitchenaids and the Magimix are priced about the same.

I've got the Magimix 5200 which is still made in France. I've had it about 12 months and dont know how I ever managed in the past without a heavy duty processor.

It comes with a parts caddy, the 2mm and 4mm Sliceing and Grating disks, 1 Whisk, 1 Dough Hook (Plastic S Blade) and the Steel S blade. Bowl Size is 14-15 cups, or 3.6L It has two smaller bowls, one for Grating and the other for processing small amounts, like dips etc.

Option wise the list runs the gamut, through to 6mm grating and slicing blades, the shredding blade and a large feed tube that takes whole tomatoes and apples and its the first processor I've had that can perfectly slice ripe tomatoes even down to 2mm slices.

Pricing here was about $100 more than the Kitchenaid for the white one.
