Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

To be honest I am surprised that a manufacturer has not looked at the preway technology from 1962 and developed an updated version. Natural gas has been pushed as utility since the 90s. The energy and time savings over a 110 volt model would be substantial . I would jump at the idea if one was offered.

Unless it's California, Massachusetts, or New York as they're completely phasing out NG by 2050.

Berkeley will no longer allow natural gas pipes in many new buildings starting Jan. 1, 2020.

Unreal....

I'll bet you would jump at it, especially if you were standing in front of the vent for the burner when the spark plug ignited the gas and there was a little burst of heat beyond the kick plate which is why owners were cautioned not to put a rug in front of it.

Had a 1970 American Standard central gas heater that would occasionally shoot out a fireball when lighting the pilot light (standing pilot) with a long wooden match. I'd usually light the pilot around late October, early November and shut it off in late April. I just learned to wear a hat and safety glasses after that incident.

I'll take a gas water heater and central heat over electrical resistance any day. Gas or electric dryer is fine in my book. I draw the line at anything without a flue though, like gas ranges. I don't care for toxic fumes engulfing my living quarters.
