Kitchenaid/Hobart KDS 15 - needs a home

My husband and I purchased and older home this spring and it came with a Kitchenaid/Hobart Superba KDS 15 brown dishwasher. We have since purchased a new dishwasher and are looking to get rid of it.
I figured this site was a good place to find it a new home.

We were told by the owner of the house (the granddaughter of the original owner) that it was in working condition - they had used it once the previous year. We have not confirmed this, however. After some research on this forum it looks like it has most, if not all original parts. Its a little dirty and dented but looks good for its age. I have some additional photos that can be emailed if need be.

We live in Norwood, MA and are just looking for someone to take it off our hands and give it a new home.

Our original Dishwasher

The is the exact same machine my Dad bought for my Mom back in 1967. Same color panels and the same color scheme on the control panel as well. In fact, same total lack of insulation on the tank too!
I eventually pulled ours out and wrapped in in 1/4 felt rug padding which is what the people at Kitchenaid said to use at the time. Made a bit of a difference but I never put anything inside the door or behind the bottom panel to absorb some of the noise.
It was always fun to hear the 1400 watt heater making the water nearly bubble in the sani cycle. It actually did clean well but due to our very hard water at the time, we had a heck of a time getting clean glasses out of it. Of course heating the water to 180 didnt help so we often used the normal cycle to avoid the lime scaling. Jet dry did nothing to alleviate it as well.

Once NYC took over the water company and sent in the soft water, she cleaned like a champ and everything sparkled.Within a few weeks, all the encrusted lime on the racks and on the inside of the tank and door was gone and the tridura porcelain shined like new!

We had one just like this that my Dad bought in 1968 replacing a 1955 Hotpoint. True to the time period ours was avacado green! It was a great machine. It was my memories of this dishwasher that prompted me to buy a KitchenAid when my Sears died last year. Let me tell you, these new ones from China or Mexico or wherever, are NOT your mother's KitchenAid. So flimsy you can practically pick it up with one hand. It doesn't clean as well either. They have gotten a lot quieter but the full cycle takes over twice as long as the old ones and as I said, they just don't clean as well. I doubt it will last 20 years either.
