Kitchenaid Imperial KD1-20D leaking

When my husband and I bought our home 5 years ago it came with this vintage dishwasher that I am absolutely in love with. It works wonderfully but one problem it leaks. I haven't used it in 4 years because I have no idea if parts are available or if I should throw in the towel and just buy a new one. I dont know what to look for in a leak on this. Could it be a seal or a hose? The water comes out the left side and goes under my cabinets. I hope it's a simple fix! Any common things to look for before I tear my kitchen apart looking? Forgive the dog reflection, she has to be in the middle of whatever mommy is doing!

Does it just leak when it is filling or throughout the entire wash? Depending where the fill outlet is for it, the seal around that could be bad and you can have one made fairly cheap if you can not find a replacement one. I would say keep it and try to find out where it is leaking. I have an almost brand new KitchenAid dishwasher and it takes almost 3 hours on a heavy load to wash with heated dry and heated wash. It does an amazing job cleaning, just takes forever. I wish I had a dishwasher like this to install!!!

Humn I hadn't thought to check when it starts leaking. Good call! I'll do a test run since I'm cleaning cabinets right now anyway!

Leak Detection

You will need to remove the lower kickplate and the lower panel in order to see where the leak is coming from. Then you should post some pictures here of the leak or post a video link if you upload it to youtube or other video sharing app.
I will guarantee that there will be many of us who will help you solve this issue.

As ;pong as you can keep the machine running, hold on to it as long as you can. Nothing compares with the speed of the older machines.
