I received the following email from a very nice lady named Joan:

Home Wanted for KDS-17

For sale: KDS-17 that’s been in my home for 39 years. Cosmetically darn near perfect. No rust, just tips of some tines on lower rack have worn a bit. Mechanically imperfect because my best guess is the motor went out a week ago, filling my kitchen with smoke when I opened the door (and then ran like a scared rabbit to the circuit-breaker box).

The photos were taken before I removed the water, which makes the floor of the machine look funky-colored, which it isn’t. I’ve since removed the smoke stains visible where the hot water enters. The small-items basket is not shown, but I have it.

I’ve bought a replacement, which will be installed on Mar. 16. If the KDS-17 can’t be picked up by Mar. 15, my only recourse is to have it hauled away by the installer because given all the snow in Minneapolis this year, the only place I could put it is under a tarp on the sidewalk by the front door, which will not make my mailman happy.

Email [email protected]. Any offer will be considered. Thanks for looking!

Update re Minneapolis KDS-17

This is Robert’s very nice lady with news: I’ve located someone who will move my very nice KDS-17 to a secure warehouse location in the event a collector would like the machine but can’t meet the 3/15 pickup deadline. This is being done as a favor to me, and a buyer will not have a labor or storage charge.

A palletized shipment within the USA may even be possible—the buyer would have to pay the freight, of course. If you live in the USA and are interested, email me at [email protected].

Pic shows smoke stain mentioned in original post.
