Hi everyone, earlier this year I drove down to San Diego to pick up a harvest gold KitchenAid KDS-18 Model 34072. We live in a 1955 ranch home that my father, who recently passed away, purchased in the 1970s. We are surrounded by similar homes being torn down to build huge modern ones, and want to restore and retain the history of this one.

I love this dishwasher. It is working fine. But we would like to be ready for repairs. First, does anyone know a repair service in So Cal who would even consider touching one of these? Second, I guess I will have to purchase one or two more of these dishwashers for spare parts. Is that right?

Yep, these machines are still out there! Just picked up two this year to compliment my KDS-17A that I fully restored in 2023. The 17A is a daily driver and the machine works so good, washes in about 35 minutes or so. Lots of experts on this forum to help you along if you decide to tackle the repairs yourself, that's how I did mine. Parts machines definetly help, but an 18 you can find lots of parts still on EBAY.
