Unplugging it
If the dishwasher circuit originates out of the same box as the disposal counter top switch, you could add another switch in there and break the hot. One of these could work for a single gang box:

That way no need to unplug. As is constant plugging and unplugging over the years can really wear down the receptacle and plug.
