Saw this on CL late last night and emailed seller.  Free was too good to pass up and the pics made the machine look pretty good, despite the wood panel.  I heard back this afternoon and made arrangements to pick it up tonight.  It had been in a small church that was being renovated and seller didn't think it had much use.  It is in very nice condition, I haven't tested it yet, maybe we'll play with it this weekend.

One of these

The one we had suffered from Superba Selectra syndrome--the control unit went brain-dead, and although it completed the cycle when asked to do so, I was never quite certain which one it was completing. After a while, I decided to switch it out for a unit that spent less time wandering in the buttercups.

That is pretty--I'll be keen to hear what you think of it!

Yikes!  I thought Whirlpool had made the electronics significantly more reliable after they assumed KA's identity.

Do the Kenmore Ultra Wash machines from this same period have similar issues?

I almost

bought one of these new a few years back, but I'm glad I waited and found my 23 just because I like it better.  I've always wondered how these performed, several on CL here too.  Thought about getting one for a song and seeing if I could make it dance for curiosity's sake.

I have two of these if you need parts.

Great, powerful machine.  I just could not get past the 1 rinse with no options for an extra.
