What's so hellish about it? She's got a husband that takes care of her and two beautiful kids. She looks like suffering in that pic, drinking coffee and smiling while waiting for the laundry to finish. At least she's not a single mom juggling two jobs and those kids with no daddy. Yeah, that's liberation.

Yay for tradition.

By the way, I know you were LOL'ing but I had to rant, sorry :-)

Good point, though, I did not notice or assume "daddy"

NOW TAKE THIS ALL IN HUMOR, pls.

I just thought it was funny that "Lady Executives"
is here shown as a muti-tasking dress-clad coffee drinking slave.. er. mom. she is actually shown ENJOYING (perhaps different than today's stereotype of an "ideal" mom)

1) Sewing with her singer drop-in bobbin sewing machine
2) Ironing to the degree/quantity that there is a built-in
board
3) Has a sink, maybe to scrub vegetable for dinner?
4) Has a Corning-ware electric coffee pot in there perhaps implying spending LOTSA time.
5) Washing and drying
6) Entertaining/babysitting her brood.

I still say the mysery appliance has potential as a mini-bar.
LOL!!!! Please just an observation. No offense to anyone!!!!

Looks like her ironing is done, I bet when the school bus passes and takes those children to school, she will snatch that corning ware percolator up and go visit with the ladies across the street. Probably will play a few games of pinnacle. I bet the lady across the street has a bundt cake about to finish up in her FLAIR... ahhh those were the days. alr2903.

Hey guys....How old are the Maytags in the pics on here? How long did they keep the full lighted consoles? Never could quite pin-point when my grandmother got hers. Thanks guys.

Mother of bride-- perplexed. Trying to pronounce "bunt"
She's scared of what that sounds like to her untrained ear, especially in light of the shape of it.

Aunt says in Greek "KEIK EINAI MORI" It's a cake.. the next word roughly translates as "yo" or "woman" or the "B" word for "female dog."

*SIGH* I do entertain myself so....LOL

I have a 1965 Lady-K Combo and it has the basic exact same Push-Button Controls as this Top-Load Lady-K has. I would really appreciate it if someone does have the Photo available and would either E-Mail it to me, or Post on this Thread.

I think it's a cabinet-style, also known as a "table-top" style electric water heater. My maternal Grandmother was partial to these and had two of them in her lifetime.

Actually it was said to be father's "fault". Compared to the monster I have become, I was a pure innocent little angel! LOL

....Other than taking apart every major and minor appliance in sight.

Listen... my mom saw me go into her gas stove with a DRILL and did not clear the room. LOL. So she must have at least trusted my judgement.!! LOL

PS no explosion and it DID work better after that.

Hey Greg- Gasky1- you may have to put a few drops in the coffee urn! Techncally one drop "charges" the whole batch. Anyone askes why the coffee burns as if there is Louisiana Hot Sauce in it, RUN for the hills!!!
