Hi gang,
I saw this Lady Kenmore dryer posted in the SS forum here and it's about an hour away from me. I really like the looks of what I can see but there aren't many pictures. I've asked for the model number from the seller and am waiting to hear back but can anyone tell which model this is? If you can tell, do you have any advice on whether this is a good machine? TIA for your advice.

MMM Kenmore dryers

You are right, the pictures aren't great, but Whirlpool/Kenmore built long-lasting machines. Buy it at that great price, you won't regret it. Parts are plentiful.

Open up the machine, get lint out of everywhere you can, get some oil into the motor bearings, it'll run another 30 years.

You are right! Our 1993 Whirlpool dryer still has the original belt and light bulb in it from new. Just clean the lint out every couple of years and you are good to go. Is this a lint filter on the top model?

Yes, that sure looks like a '65.  I have one as the daily driver in St-Lib and it's working like a charm!  Parts are still fairly easy to find (I may even have a couple of spare parts, too...) and they are easy machines to work on.  Get some oil on the drum belt idler pulley if you do decide to get this dryer.  They do wear out and can cause a horrible squeal.

1965

You guys nailed it!!! If you buy it do all the above suggestions. Pull out the blower assembly. Between the mounting plates you will find an oil wick on the bearing. Pop the clip and saturate it with non detergent turbine oil. It will keep it free for a long while.

This may have been said above, but this dryer was built in both the older belt-drive blower version, and some later build examples were made in the fixed bulkhead new design.

Parts are more plentiful for the fixed bulkhead, newer design.

This is indeed a 1965 Lady Kenmore. Seems like quite a lot of these were built as many seem to be around even today.

Good luck getting it!

Gordon
