So thanks in part to you alls help, I have a decent running washing machine. I've youtubed and googled this issue but many solutions seem like an 8-prong 'shotgun approach' to fixing it and a lot of the models are newer and n/a to what I have parts-wise. On my middle spin cycle, the machine shakes pretty violently and on the final spin cycle, the inner tub is hola-hooping around pretty badly in the outer tub. Can someone give me maybe top 3 culprits for that for my year model for me to check its wear? Thanks much.

Hi Eric, I assume this is a belt drive lady Kenmore from the early 80s?

There’s all kinds of things that will cause it to shake violently. It could have a cracked inner basket cracked or loose center post in the base plate , it could be missing the three transmission braces or they could be loose.

Video and recording would help but beyond that you’re going to have to figure out what’s wrong with it it’s hard to do that without actually examining the machine but if you do some examination and post what you’re finding we might be able to help.

As stated, its direct drive. Machine has been somewhat gone through already by me.

Inner tub looks fine, no cracks. Inner and outer tub have been off it. Didn't see or feel anything off about the post or shaft, but then that doesn't mean there isnt an issue with them. Springs are fine.

I did a little more youtubing and finally found more vids of similar year models. I'm betting its either the pads are broken/worn or the base plates are mis-aligned. Thank you all for your feedback.
