Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Definitely worth saving!  You may need to do some work (the spin bearings in the washer are probably ready to be replaced by now) however it's still possible to find Whirlpool/Kenmore parts (just ask John - Combo52... LOL).  At least it's easier than finding parts for an ABC-O-Matic,  an Apex, or a Launderall automatic washer, trust me...

I’d definitely would save that set. As Paul mentioned, the bearings may need to be replaced but if they are fine I’d take the transmission out along with the spin tube and I’d pack the entire center post with grease and I know you aren’t really supposed to do that but I did that to my ‘63 Whirlpool to squeeze more life out of the bearings.

1968-9 Lady Kenmore Pair

Hi Chris, Yes save these, most functional parts can still be found for these machines, It is sure a lot easier to find parts for these and perform most repairs on them than the FD 1-18s to say nothing about these are much better machines than a 1-18 pair.

We have the exact same pair in our museum the dryer is quit advanced in both temperature management and dryness sensing and there was simply no better washer sold in the US in these years.

Get in touch if you need help or parts.
