Story Goes

Dial Corp was the distributer for LaFrance, but was produced by another plant (previous owner's of the product,General Foods?), and the later suddenly ceased production leaving Dial and everyone else high and dry. Other story goes that due to low demand/sales Dail Corp was no longer interested in selling LaFrance, and ceased production/distribution

Due to the rather low sales volume of LaFrance, Dial nor anyone else is interested in reviving production.

LaFrance started out as a bluing, but moved onto a bluing/laundry booster with "Luminess", (hence the labeling on how well LaFrance worked on "Nylons" (traditional bluing agents do not really work with man made fibers).

Being as all the above may, have several boxes of the old "General Foods" version of La France in my stash. Sorry, but you will have to pry them out of my cold dead hands! *LOL*
Stuff is just that hard to find.

I really miss La France also. Not only did it help whiten the whites clothes it also removed many stains. When my step son play football it was the only product that got all the stains out the white practice pants. I wrote Dail numerous times and the only response I ever got thatit was a slow seller and they sent me coupons for other products. I tried Mrs Stewarts liquid bluing but it did not work like La France and would leave blue streaks if it was mix properly.
