Large oven bake element help needed

I need help identifying a replacement bake large oven element for my vintage GE range (1955 Liberator, SN 1J408W1M3). Range pics attached.

The GE Parts Manual that I downloaded from this site (dated 1974) says the original element PN was WB44X126 (236V). However, when I look that up on the internet, it shows as having screw terminals instead of the plug in type needed by my range.

My element is missing, so I do not have a sample. However, I have attached a page from the service manual that shows the original element configuration and some pictures to show dimensions. This page also states that the original element wattage was 2500W for the main oven.

It would appear that the width of the element loop needs to be 19 inches to the outside and the depth at about 15.5 inches. See attached pictures.

My internet searching so far has identified the WB44X5019 as a possible option. It is narrower in width than my original and is listed at 3000 watts instead of the advertised 2500 watts from my manual. The difference is an additional 2.1 amps additional current. Do you think that would be an issue?

I have a quote for someone to make me a custom one, so that is my final (high priced) option.

Also, does anyone know where I can find the contact clips that go into the ceramic oven element connector?

I would appreciate any advice anyone can provide.

You can find the same three prong plug-in element on Flea Bay. Just do a "Vintage GE Hotpoint" oven search. there are two sizes, a medium size (which I use for my vintage wall oven) and your size. Let me know how you make out.

The contact clips...............

are going to be harder to find though. they do come up on Fleabay occasionally but you might have to get them from a donor oven. Are yours that bad ? Can you get by with just cleaning them off or are they destroyed ?

Bake Element For An Older GE Range

You can use the direct wired element, it will screw right, GE recommended this change as the wired in element is a much more durable way to get power to the element.

So if I want to change to a direct wired element

Do I simply remove the ceramic receptacle and drill new holes for mounting the new style element backing plate? Then just use self-tapping screws?

The holes for the screws that mounted the cermac block should be in the correct place to screw in the hinged element ,I have done this at least a hundred times.

Just a follow-up for anyone who cares...

I ordered a WB44X5099 for my 1955 GE Liberator large oven bake element. After removing the original ceramic block connector in the back of the oven the new element fit perfectly and installed easily. No wiring or mounting modifications, other than the connector block deletion. The built-in hinge action will make future oven cleaning much easier. The element was only $25.

Just wanted folks to know a specific part number that worked for me on this range. I am sure that there are others that will also work, but this is what I did.

Now on to my broil element. I have ordered a WB44X134 and it should be here today. I will let you know how it works out.
