Help Support :

If there is a group email going, I just made sure my address is visible to all!!
I am going to be heading down to Ogden soon so I will be out of email contact until Sunday night but if anyone needs my phone numbers to get something organized, please let me know. I will have be at least one day over the Labour Day weeked (if anyone can wait that long!!)
Gosh, this is could be like those crazy appliance dreams I have where I discover acres of washers and dryers and dishwashers...

Oh, I'm on my way.

Maybe we could do our own remake of "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World" with a mad car dash to this place. Who wants to be Ethel Merman?

I bet Steve Toggle could do a good Ethel Merman, including the hat.

Road trip

If anyone from Ohio (or is going through Ohio ) is thinking about a road trip to this place let me know. I would be glad to ride along and pitch in on expenses, driving ect... jeb

My girdle is killing me!

There's NO business like SHOW business, like NO business I knowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

HA! That old broad is tough!

OK boys and girls and girly-boys. Go easy; all this drooling and demand is likely to get the prices too far up.

HELLO Silly silly silly Ethel

HE CAN"T SEE US DROOLING......unless he joined secretly and is spying, OH MY!

Please check out the Easy table top for 1500 bucks in Imperial..." Vintage machine from 1877" Don't you have one and didn't you make a thread with pix from way back when?

"Linkee, please," as Ethel loves to say.

I am still on for a prospecting trip...

on Labour Day weekend! I have the address of the place in Queensbury NY (near Glens Falls) and it is 3 hours from the condo in Montreal, or 4 hours from the house in Ogden. It would have to be a day trip, though, but I am willing to go and photograph as much as I can. Anyone else who might be interested in joining me, please let me know.

A group arrangement....

Has anyone heard from the guy? I got an e-mail Friday night saying he wouldn't be at work until Monday and couldn't tell me what was there until then (that's today, but nothing yet).

Before we start getting all excited about the arrangements, let's verify what the guy has. We can reply to him that a bunch of us are working together, etc. when/if we get e-mails. That may make it easy. Once we know what we can get (or can't), and how much $$$ he wants, then we start working on logistics, fighting over machines (lol), etc.

You all agree?

Gordon

Good plan, Gordon. I already learned he doesn't have any turquoise machines, so I won't be scratching anyone's eyes out...yet!
I got an email from him, but no details about prices or when he is 'open' either.

Yea, he told me he would get back to me today as well. I had asked him about pricing for a few machines. I was particularly interested in the Whirlpool and the avocado washer, but was hoping to get an idea of what he was looking for on them to pass along here.

Got an email from Hans

I just got an email from the seller with the following list of items available:
Frigidaire Washer: WCDL, WN7, WIC-A, W5, WS, WC-6, WCD3T, W-2
Frigidaire Dryer: DCDL, DECI, DCIF-61, DAN
Kenmore Washer: 7204900G, 7204800W
Kenmore Dryer: 7208900G, 6408900, 6818600W00
GE Washer: 352TI
GE Dryer: 420X1-W, 610W3-W, 420A1-Y
Maytag Washer: A702, A502
Windsor (Montgomery Ward) Dryer: UAN7617A
Whirlpool Dryer: 561842

He told me that there is buyer going there tomorrow and asked me to email him if I had a specific brand/model that I was looking for... Cripes, I wish I knew the model number of the Frigidaire Deluxe dryer that would match the WDAC63 washer!!!

Hope this list helps!

We've been back and forth 3 times

He has no vintage machines showroom ready, but will be happy to repair, sand, and repaint one if I was interested.

He sent me the same list he sent Paul and one other machine....considering purchasing it.

Told him I was looking for a Whirlpool Combo, and he said he's keep and eye out and let me know.

He is courteous and professional.

I also have this same list

and I have to admit, I was a bit surprised. The list wasn't my idea of Large, but any vintage machine is a score.

At this point I have made the decision to bow out. Since he cannot tell me the condition of any of the machines and no firm pricing is set, plus I have no idea how I would get one that far away from me. I really don't have the room for anything else and will enjoy seeing someone else get the chance at owning a Frigidaire Rapidry.

I put an offer in on the a few of the Kenmores, but I haven't heard. Got all the same information as the rest, which is nice, at least we all got the same stories.

I'll let you know if I hear anything, it's been nearly 24 hours.

Gordon

He told me that there is buyer going there tomorrow~

Which is today!

I wonder who it is, no one that I know, because I've asked them.

Very exciting and intriguing.

I have not heard back from him today.

Any Updates?

Have there been any updates on this treasure find? It has gotten awfully quiet around this subject.

Malcolm

I heard back from them on the Whirlpool, prices aren't really set and I need to decide what amount, if any, that I want to spend on another washer that likely needs a complete restoration and cosmetic panel parts - missing water level knob is no big deal but the missing button could prove tricky. That's after it's bought and shipping is paid for. All said and done, it could be approaching a grand for a washer that is a virtual duplicate in function to the 68 Kenmore and 60 Lady K I already have!

I got an e-mail on Thursday from Hans in reply to my offer on the LK pair and a Kenmore 80-series machine they have as well. They want 2.5 times what I offered. My offer considered my transportation costs, etc. but the machines aren't worth their price plus shipping, so I'm out too.

Gordon

I got an email, too, late last week about an MW impeller top-load dishwasher. He said he wanted $150 for it, which doesn't seem too bad to me. It's the parts that I am REALLY interested in, though. Still considering a trip down there on the Labour Day weekend (the Saturday) if anyone else is up for the trip.

Too much for me.

I've got a gold 1972 KM Lady K washer. It needs some work, (paint, rust removal, repair a tear in the cabinet on one side, replace leaking lint filter, and seals and centerpost bearings to be safe) but it cost me all of $10.00.

If anyone wants mine, let me know.
Dave

All 12 buttons are present on the Mark XII; the post-it must have tagged the right cycle for Gramps to wash his union jacks ;'>
Hans has the missing water level control.

Justified

I just can't justify spending 200+ on a machine that may or may not been raped for parts. Perhaps if the machines were functioning, 200. If he restored them and wanted to ask more money, that would be okay.

I wonder if they'll go to the crusher if nobody coughs up the green.

Malcolm

well, Robert when you are ready, i guess this thread could easily go to "imperial". Maybe after dealing with the general public, offers made by the Aw.org members may look very attractive. The man does have some nice old machines. arthur
