Last night on TCM...

....I fell asleep to an old kinescope of a Studio One episode, "The Rockingham Tea Set" with Grace Kelly & Louise Allbritton. I was momentarily awakened by a delightful commercial, done by Betty Furness for a front loading pair by Westinghouse. Sweet.

I saw that too - first commercial break was for the fridge and freezer, second for the Laundromat set. Very cool. Amazing that fridge was $239 - a lot of money in 1950.

suicide?

Somewhere,I heard that Betty Furness comitted suicide via jumping off the Needle in Seattle,Washington.Anyone else here hear that or is just BS?

my dear, such drama! who wouldn't repeat a story like that. yes, betty died of cancer in '94. there where no dramatic leaps.
