I was looking at a few year old Duet I have sitting in wait of repair and noticed a few options on it that I wondered about.  First is the  Night/Quiet button.  How does it "quiet" the machine down?  My other Duets are not all that noisy as it is.  The second is the addition of a Rinse button with 3 options -- Normal - Extra - Max -- Does this increase water level?  Add extra rinses?

Only other changes on the control panel are some differing text.  Under the Clean option my older unit indicates with Bleach only, while the newer unit recommends Affresh.. The Wool symbol is also missing on the newer unit.

Hopefully one of these days I'll get it back together and running.

I remember a few years ago

the new duets (then) had a max rinse button and the night/quiet button. I asked over and over about the rinse button and some people said it just added and extra rinse in addition to the already extra rinse, while others said it increased the rinse water level. So I'm still left having no clue what it does. I'm thinking the night quite button just tumbles the clothes until you unload the machine. I'm not sure. I do know that the current duets no longer have the max rinse option (whatever it is) LOL. I'm thinking the current duets do have bigger rinses in some cycles though like allergen. Hopefully someone who knows more will answer.

The set of Duets I have has these buttons on it. The extra rinse is just that 1 extra rinse, the max rinse I believe is 2 extra rinses. No rise in the water level. The night time button reduces the spin speed to keep the machine quiet. It is preprogrammed when pressed. This is what I have observed.
