Laundromat Names

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

I've seen both of those names

Besides, if you are going to make 2 businesses together, the name will be crucial.  In the '80's there was Duds and Suds which was a bar and laundromat.

Clean and Rise  is the only one that comes to mind right now.  Look at all of the details of your business and see if there are things that go across both businesses.  It has to be unique, easy to remember and something that would be appealing between the businesses.

Good luck with this.  Both are unique businesses and both can be profitable.

Depending on the focus of your

bakery, how about "Clean and Sweet?" or "Sweet n' Clean?

That is, if you're going in more of a dessert/pastry mode than a bread mode. If you're going toward bread, "Rise and Clean" as been said above, or similar.

I like to bake bread, but I am more known for my desserts, particularly my cookies.

Best of luck to you!

It's now (sadly, sadly) out of print, but The Fannie Farmer Baking Book by Marion Cunningham is WONDERFUL. The classic 1963 edition of Betty Crocker's Cooky Book is back in print, and as luscious as ever. These, and Rose Levy Berenbaum's The Bread Bible, and ANY of Beth Hensperger's bread books are very reliable.

BUNS & SUDS

WASH & BAKE DEPOT

BAKE & WASH HEAVEN

(Of course, end names like "Heaven", "Center", "Depot", etc. are inter-changable, depending on preference/compatibility w/ the first "trade name"...)

What a great bunch of ideas! Sugar and Soap is good, among others.

All I can add is " Goodie Tub", "Clothesline Bakery" , and one that is over the top and probably illegal (lol! ) "Munch and Clean" ...ok, no worse than "Bubble n Buns". LOL !

Ok, enough from the peanut gallery.

Name

How about Washateria? I heard that term used down south in South Carolina and thought was better than laundromat.

You want a distinctive name for your laundromat cafe?

A name that, when people see it, they KNOW it's YOUR PLACE and nobody else's?

If that's the case? Don't choose to name it "The Wash Tub".

It's a wonderful name, don't get me wrong. But it's far from unique: There are numerous "Wash Tub" laundromats all over the U.S. (do a Google search to see for yourself).

I can't come up with anything clever... but I like
Suds-cake
Laudroteria

But my absolute favorite, especially if you're going for a 50-60's theme is
"BAKE-0-MAT"... I can just picture the turquoise and pink.

"Rise n Shine" is familiar and catchy. Bread rises; laundry doesn't exactly "shine" so it's still a reach.

But it beats Sebum and Yeast which sounds like something you'd need penicillin for. Also beats Leavening and Surfactancy, which might work in Princeton but might not. Memorable for science types, but not catchy. Barely pronounceable.

Tub n Roll? Scrub n Grub?

Sinnamon Suds? Trademarkable, but evocative?

Here in Reno, there is a big locally owned laundromat operation called Duds and Suds. Multiple stores offering self serve, drop off and, since it's Nevada, slots and video poker to keep you busy while you wait.

Our laundromat is actually called The Wash Tub with a picture of a wood tub Maytag wringer next to the name.

yeah, Suds 'n Cake is good, but .... Bake-O-Mat is really nice and retro sounding...like it alot.

Maybe not so good, but I have to add: Rub-a-Dub Bakery with three (choose whichever)people adding laundry to the old tub and holding/eating bakery goods for the sign
