I received my first full paycheck today and after paying some bills I decided to buy some laundry additives

A bar of Fels Naptha Soap. I'm familiar with the name but never used it. I love the scent.

A Clorox bleach pen. I have to wear white polo type shirts at work. Took out pizza sauce stains and some stains that were either tea or coffee.

A Bounce dryer bar. LOVE it.

And finally for the first time in over a year a bottle of genuine Clorox Bleach and real Pine Sol.

I bought some food too, the last of food stamps for hopefully a long time. I really missed shopping for non-food items. I'm just glad I was at the grocery store and not Wal-Mart.

Even though my feet hurt like hell after my shift, it's great to be back on them. Thanks Toggs.

Well done.....

....nothing quite like a few 'luxuries' to celebrate a well deserved pay-cheque....

We don't get bleach pens here, and most know my feelings on bleach anyway, but someone on here commented that they can put holes in your shirts....proceed with care!

The instructions say to wash the item one minute after treating. The next time I get a stain on one of the white shirts I'm going to try the Fels Naptha first and if it doesn't remove the stain then I will use the bleach pen. I was like a kid in a candy store when I bought this stuff, I had such a strange feeling, can't quite describe it.

Yes, I use vinegar every now and then. I also like to put a little pine-sol in the wash cycle. One of stores here carries Final Touch, I want to get a bottle of that sometime.

Don't forget your Borax and Arm and Hammer WASHING soda. Throw in some color safe bleach and an enzyme remover and the world is a better place. :)

You've been under quite a strain for a long time, and it takes a while for it to sink in that your fortunes have improved. I recently spent quite some time staying with relatives and friends after my partner's death; the owner of the house we'd been in wanted it back pronto, and I had no place to go right away, not even time to look for one - I had to spend all my time cleaning out my partner's stuff, since he was a hoarder. Two weeks ago, I moved into my own place again for the first time in two months, and within about three days, I broke down and cried, because my troubles were over, and I could finally afford a reaction to the strain I'd been under. This may happen to you, and if it does, let 'er rip - it'll do you good, and help you put the rough patch you've been through behind you.

Hey Sandy!

Welcome back, I've missed you! Having just read your post I understand your relative absence. Congrats on the new place. Now, to fill 'er up. (so to speak...) Have you had your things shipped yet?

Welcome back.

Splurging on cleaning supplies is a pleasure of mine too. I have had a rather rough time with life for a while now and sometimes the simplest things are the most satisfying when you know there's nothing else negative breathing down your neck.

Glad things have improved,
Dave

I used to get really excited about buying office supplies, now it's cleaning supplies. Next check I will have to get some 20 Mule, and Washing Soda, and probably a couple more bottles of Pine Sol and Murphy's Oil Soap I need to wash the paneled walls in my bedroom they haven't been washed since I moved it.

Thank goodness there's more people like me. I used to worry that I actually enjoyed shopping the laundry detergent aisle. And the fact that I considered buying a new brand of detergent to be An Exciting Adventure.
