I Remember The King

White King made a fine line of laundry products at reasonable prices. I loved White King D (detergent); it had a nice odor and cleaned clothes well. I still see the White King water softener, but the other products must have been lost in merger and acqusition land.
Anyone remember Pacific Soap Company--who made Citrus Soap and Vogue detergent? Vogue was another gem--good performance at a rock-bottom price.
I had an aunt who used nothing by Rinso Blue in her ABC-O-Matic. I miss such blue-tinted powders as Rinso and Cheer.

You know the sad thing. They still make and sell Rinso, I see it all the time at the 99 cent store. But they stopped DASH back in like the mid 80's or early 90's. I loved that stuff and would like to find some. I'm not talking about the stuff in Italy either. I want like what Robert has on his shelves of many vintage detergents lol.

I've seen Vogue in the last 5 years or so...probably ended up part of the Huish conglomerate. I always pick up a box of White King Water Softener when i travel to California...since phosphates are a no-no here.

Interesting how there were regional soap companies "back in the day"...it was expensive to ship so why not manufacture closer to where consumed...
