I bought this Miele advert online several months ago and finally got around to framing it. I spray painted the frame with a textured flat black and used some black fabric from the fabric store as the background. Turned out very nice. I'm also going to be framing a Persil tea towel that I got but when I went to remove the glass from the frame it snapped in half, so I have to go get new glass tomorrow before I can finish that. I'm also framing 3 Persil postcards I got online in 5x7 frames.

Will update the thread with photos of the rest once I get them done.

Here are the rest of my finished Persil shrine :-) Was a bit of work but turned out nice. Note that the Persil tea towel is not 100% square, so it goes look crooked but it's as good as it will get :)

Ingemar,

It looks like you have some nice adverts yourself! I can't over-do it, as I don't want to clutter up the walls too much but I think the amount I have will be just fine. It's one of those hobbies it's hard to stop once you start! I have to limit myself to what I have :)

Washer Photos, etc.

I have both many, many OLD and newer US washer brochures in my collection. I also have MANY older, late-80's and before, European and Australian sales brochures and advertisements in magazines! I have that Miele ad that vacfanatic BOUGHT! It is in several of my French home magazines.

For Ingemar...

It's so funny, you and I are very much alike, as I have been into detergents since I was a kid, too! Every trip I've taken overseas or to Canada and Mexico, I have schlepped-home heavy loads of detergents and CD's! I got smart on my very last European trip to France, Holland and Switzerland in 1989-I shipped-home all my detergents from France! It cost me enough to do so, but they got home faster than I did! I still have empty boxes and bottles from other countries, and some full, unused US & Canadian detergent boxes! I LOVE lemon scent detergent, it's difficult to find good-quality brands with that here. I have a big bottle of "Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Lemon Verbena" liquid detergent. It works OK, but not as good as the nicely-scented German Persil gels I have! My Miele Ultra Color powder has a very clean lavender/citrus smell, and my clothing comes-out of the wash spotless and pleasantly, lightly scented! Nobody I know offers to bring home stuff for me.

For Jsneaker (Jason)

Hi Jason :)
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one to be that much into laundry detergents. Right now I'm writing to you from Turkey where I am on vacations, so you can imagine how many detergents I'm going to bring home from here.

Jason, do you have some photos of your collection?

Yes I agree, I also like lemon scented detergents. I remember the Canadian Sunlight which had a nice lemon scent. But the lemon scented detergents are very different one from another and only some of them has a plesant fresh lemon scent like the real lemon. Many others has a strange synthetic smell.

Ingemar
