Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

I appreciate all your remarks everyone!

I'm glad to share these with you all and perhaps a wash-in may bring you to Canada to see these machines. I do plan to have one, it's a question of when. Terry, you must come to Canada sometime. Mark, will post more pics of the 57 Kelvinator Do All Dial when it's up and running. It has a motor issue that I've been trying to solve.
Ben, sharp eye on the Digital Maytag. Even though it's an orbital I put in an original turquoise power fin.
Michael, the feet on the model E never came with the machine, the owner lost them but I took it in anyways.
So now, I'd love to see more of your vintage laundry areas so come on everyone, post pics. Wringers included!

Eddy, I would love to come to Canada sometime. I have never been there. Just let us know when the wash-in is and I am sure you will have more visitors than you ever imagined. Be sure to keep us posted. It has been way to long since I last say you!! Terry

I'll take you up on your offer Eddy. These were taken back in June. Things are a bit messy right now with the kitchen and bathroom work; and certain machines are not accounted for.

Once the kitchen and bathroom are done, I'll start to work on the basement. At the current moment it is more of a holding cell than a display room!

The 59 Kelvinator! Still need to get the motor/clutch issue taken care of. Have the new motor, but just need to get it wired in and it would be done.

To the left is the 52 Whirlpool, to the right the 64 Lady K dryer (which wishes it was a washer!)

Ben,

you should be doing a wash-in! You have an amazing collection as well! Eddy, we need to do some kind of get together too. You all have such great stuff! That GE of yours is just beautiful. By the way...keep your eyes peeled for another avocado GE washer. I would love to get my hands on a rust-free top. :-)

Great photos guys!

Jon

Ben!

When did you get the Green Queen? I missed that. SOOOOOO nice. What a collection you have going! BTW, how did you locate a new motor for your Kelvinator? Was it the one from Grainger? I need a new motor for my Kelvy too and it would be up and running.
Jon: All green avocado GE's found are being shipped express to Portland.

Ben...

I'm going to a wash-in at your house. What you didn't know??

Your collection is sweeeeeeeeet!

Green Queen with envy!

Hey Ben,

That Green Queen of yours is exactly like the one we used to have in the late 70's - only ours was harvest gold. I looked at the shot with your lid open and noticed the old 60's lint filter sitting on the agitator. Ours did not have a lint filter on it. Was this an add on by you? We also had the matching gas dryer but that was sold when we purchased the matching one for our 1983 HA700lL model (which are still in use)!

When the brake gave out on our harvest gold SQ we got rid of it and purchased the 1983 HA7001L model. I should have kept it but Automaticwasher.org was not around yet!

Mike

Love your laundry room!

Hey Eddy,

Great looking laundry room! I'm sure you had a fun time running the wiring and plumbing for this major project! Still love your SQ collection! I noticed a couple not installed yet (A-53)- but I'm sure that will change!

Question - I noticed a lot of folks with big collections tend to either pair up the washers and dryers together while others tend to put all the washers in one location and the dryers in another. Is this just personal preference or a plumbing issue? I'm sure that both of these cross ones mind when setting up so many machines!

Keep up the good work!

Mike

Hey Ben, boy you have been holding out on us!! I had no idea your collection had grown to that size. Looks like the vacuums are also expanding!! Thanks for sharing. I am still looking forward to seeing pictures of that kitchen!!!

Sneak Preview!!!

Hey Eddy, Glad to see the twinny pride of place next to the Miele & Creda Debonair.....looking good....lets see the vid!!!

Ben, now we know what you`ve been doing with your weekends!!! what an ever increasing collection, love the green Speed Queen and a Hoover Junior (Lark) no less, over to yours next time!!!

Cheers, Mike

Just Incredible

Eddy and Ben,

All I can say is WOW. Both of your collections are amazing.

Sometimes I feel like I am collecting too much and need to stop. But now that I've seen what you both have I don't feel so bad. Lot's of eye candy to look at.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Patrick

Thanks for the pictures!

Wow! What an impressive collection. But what excited me the most is the Do All Dial Kelvinator. A beautiful looking machine I must say. I did not realise that anybody owned one.

Can you please take more pictures of it if you get the chance?

I just bought a shed for the back yard, and one of the first things that I will put into it is floor tiles. I have a bunch of soft vinyl squares, various colors, that I will cement to the floor. There won't be any washers stored in the shed, just a bunch of Blackstone parts.

Ben, looks like you cleaned up the cabinet a bit since I last saw that machine.

Fred

Oh Ben of Blackstone

I had no Idea you had one, and now Fred is right here. He generously sent me a copy of the Sacred Blackstone Text wherein the wonders of the Flex-o-Trol are revealed.

Do you know of these wonders? Let me know if you'd like a copy. We should do a joint post. This machine's moves are so incredible, so "Back to the Future," that I get all shaky and weirded-out thinking about them.

The wide though almost transparent fill flume is visible between 9:30 and 11:30. The long string of spit between the rims is sudsy water hurled thru the very visible slits.
