Was surfing the web recently if you would like to see some seriously large machines in action click on the following link and go to the videos section

Very interesting

Thanks for that Cbosch, I really enjoyed looking at that. I wouldn't mind seeing one of those spinning.

I saw these monster's spin in person at Clean '05. It is pretty cool cuz the machine is on hydraulics and when it's time to spin, it stands up so the suspension is more forgiving. However, the only downside to these machines is that they only spin at a top speed of 130-150 RPM, But with those HUGE diameter drums, the linens still get a LOT of G's.

Really-very interesting-gives you a very good insight how industrial laundries work and the equipment involved.I never gave industrial laundry much thought until I saw the Braun link.Need to explore the site some more.Watched all of their film clips-most informing.HEAVY EQUIPMENT for laundry!!The large sheet pressers were interesting-and the folders-on how they work.

Other interesting things on these industrial laundries and equipment-they are truely fully automatic-love the way the pneumatic system picks up the dirty laundry-stores it until a washer is available-then loads the washer by dropping the load into it from a chute that drops down in front of the washer opening--after the washer opens its door!!then after the washer loads-the door shuts and it starts. And that automatic shuttle that takes washed clothes or items from the washer and brings them to the dryer.Essentually the laundered items are not handled manually until they get to the finishing section-pressing and folding-Even there the operators are merely feeding the machines manually-bet soon this will be automated as well. And like the press type "Extractor" after the pass thru washer. These industrial laundries are quite interresting-But stay out of the way of that laundry shuttle!!In one of the videos you could see a flashing light on it before the shuttle moves.I could envision one of these facilites being run by only one or two people if they could automate the finishing section.I would be willing to bet Braun is working on that. And also they mention the folders and pressers can "reject" torn or dirty items.Truely cool!!
