So what is the goal for a perfect laundry soap or detergent in a top loader?
So what is the goal for a perfect laundry soap or detergent in a top loader?

The words “soap” and “detergent” often get used interchangeably, but they really are two different things.
Laundry detergent is safe for your top loader.
What’s “perfect” with your machine depends on it’s functions, as well as your water conditions and water temperatures used.
Your water in Lancaster..I suspect may be hard? Meaning that there is a higher level of inorganic minerals.
If so, you are much safer using detergents rather than soaps.
If you do have hard water, then adding STPP along with your detergent will help tremendously for the fabric ur washing and keeps your washing machine from building up hard water scale.
Unless you have a house water softener. Then that changed everything.
