Lay-Away?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Lay-Buy here has never really gone away, Target, Kmart, Big W etc all still have it and always have, most people I know use it for Birthdays and Christmas, they do all their shopping early and then have a few months to pay for it.

Whirlcool, what your Mastercard company is doing is the exact opposite in Australia. Over here, unless you're over 50, the Cheque is basically dead. We have a service called Bpay (Bill Pay) that lets you pay almost any bill electronically, via the phone or internet and if it's a plumber or the such, they provide their BSB and Account number and you electronically transfer the money straight into their bank account.

One would think that it's more expensive to process a cheque than to process an electronic transaction.

I guess thats the joy of being a small country, it's easier to get things standardised and streamlined.

Credit Cards

I'm convinced that they're the spawn of the devil. The credit card companies suck you in, then bleed you dry.

If you possibly can, wean yourself off the buggers. Best if you can avoid them in the first place.

I'm convinced that they're the spawn of the devil.

I am in full agreement with you, and so are many of the prophits. The credit card/debit card is a move towards a cashless society. Big brother (the credit bureau) will control commerce unless you have the mark of the beast (a credit card) in your hand.

I'm not implying anything. But you are inferring it it s

LOL

I love to tease my Roman Catholic friends (I still have have friends, yes..., impressed? LOL).

One can take their ashes on Ash Wednesday on the right hand or the forehead. Intersting! So too is located the mark of the beast........

Just an interesting point.

(ducks and runs......)

I still have have friends,

Don't believe you, but if you want to insist. :-)

The ashes are to remind us not that we are of Christ, but that "from ashes we came and to ashes we shall return"
In otherwords it is to humble us that our bodies weren't anything, arent' anything, and wont be anything.

Yes, I know, but snce my religion and that one don't like each other much, (political reasons) I thought I'd share some (nasty) humor. Please, no offence intended.

Believe me I have taken communion in a RC church out of respect and reverence. The priest, mind you, commented moments later (over the PA system) that only RCs may do so. (I make my cross, spectacles testicles right left, and y'all do it top, bottom left, right, so I got "OUTED", likety-split .

My "tia politica" (aunt-in-law) thanked me profusely and told me to ignore the fool. She was honored I took communion at her renwal-of-the weeding vows mass and ceremony.

FEH!

Whirlcool, are you making the payment via the cardbank account, or via billpay through your checking account bank? There was mention of this recently on another forum, that a particular ccard is no longer allowing online/electronic payments, but it wasn't clear from which angle the payment was being done.

The way I recall it

K-mart pioneered the format a decade earlier than Target/Venture/GEM. Those stores used that time to good advantage studying K-mart, and then positioning themselves just a little above. Incidentally, I worked at one of the original 3 K-marts during the summer between high school and college. #4027, on Outer Drive & Sherwood in Detroit.

I just log onto my bank and there is a list of payees. I just select the payee and the bank sends the funds via electronic transfer to the credit card company. If I put in the amount on Monday before 6pm, the credit card company has it posted to my account on Tuesday, the next day.
You WOULD think that it's cheaper for all involved this way, but I think it's just a scam to squeeze more money out of you by the credit card company. The MasterCard bank by the way is Capital One.
I hardly carry any cash at all on me anymore, certainly never more than $20.00. I use my debit card for most everything.

I thought Martha was selling her logo stuff at Macy's now? I do have her metal breadbox, bought it at a K-mart close out, after her insider trading fiasco, IMHO Martha never got a fair shake, she went to jail. So why is this Madeoff (sp) guy still in his penthouse?
