Well Hi everyone!

I'm sure this question has been asked multiple times before - but I can't find the posts for the life of me...

So - new Speed Queen Washer and Dryer delivered last night at midnight (fun - let me just say!) and I need to transport them to our storage facility on the other side of the city...

I 'thought' I could have fitted them into the back of the minivan (seats removed etc) and just transported them upright... However - with the boxes/packaging I'm not sure I'm going to fit them in... well upright anyway...

I've transported older model Speed Queens laying down before without drama - but that was when it didn't matter if the transmission leaked oil... These are shiny and new - and I don't want to mess them up... I wondered if the transmission had a breath hole at all - and there's a risk of leakage...?

Any advice is greatly appreciated folks!

Oh - and the time they would be laying down would be no longer than 40 minutes and obviously I would leave the packaging tub ring in...

Cheers

I doubt it

Still I'd leave them upright for a hour or so to allow the tranny lube to flow back to where it normally is

I've placed SQ washers on their backs for transport in my Grand Caravan with no ill effects.

Wrestling them up and down stairs, through narrow doorways, etc, present greater potential for damage in my opinion.

Thanks...

everyone for the info...

We laid the washer and dryer down - scooted up to the storage facility and got them upright again all within about an hour...

So I'm pleased it wasn't long - and they will now sit for quite some time before being put into use...

Appreciate the help folks!

Cheers
