Hi guys..

So I took apart this dryer as it had gotten EXTREMELY loud.. Once I had it apart, I replaced the two tub rollers on the back wall of the machine as the rubber was rather aged.. I also replaced the belt tensioner and the belt of course. I wanted to replace the felt on the front and back of the machine but nobody local had it in stock.. So I put the machine back together...

Once I got it hooked back up to the gas line and ran a load thru it, below in the link is the machine and its offending noise. The noise is coming from the back of the machine from what I can tell.. thoughts?? Is all that noise a side effect of felt from circa 1985?

Yes sure sounds like a loose stripped blower wheel as John Mentioned above.

The blower wheel probably fails more often than even the belt on MT dryers like this.

When you service things like an older W&D it is best to replace what is necessary and skip changing parts that are fine like the rear rollers and felt seals etc, the original parts are often better than new ones that were made long after the machine was manufactured.

Sounds like my DG713 when I first got it. The blower wheel was so trashed it was eating up the housing. Thankfully it didn't penetrate through the housing.

Hmmm.. I didn’t look at the blower wheel honestly.. that actually makes a lot more sense.. I’ll check it out and let you all know what I find. Thx!!!
