Hey guys!, Just wondering if any of you would help me with a puzzling leak on this washer! Its roughly 2 and a half years old, and for the money its doing a really good job.

However recently weve noticed that its been leaking a small amount of water from what seems to be the right hand side of the machine. On several occasions weve lifted the machine up to see if there are any signs of water residue or pipes which may have perished, but to my amazement everything has always been bone dry!

Today weve ordered a new sump hose for it which hopefully will rectify the problem however its still not very clear if the water is coming out of the hose itself.

Also this evening, I had the top lid of the washer to have a look at the hose which connects the drawer to the drum, and also see if there are any small cracks within the plastic outer drum. Everything appears to be dry! The door seal has also been checked for any defects on both the inside and out, and yet again everything is in perfect condition so this is a real mystery!

Any ideas on what might be causing this leak are greatly appreciated!

Thanx for reading!

Richard

Well Richard, I had a Zanussi Jetsystem ( don't know the model no but it was new in 1993 ) which did exactly the same. The machine was a total dud and was very unstable when spinning, turned out the excessive shaking had created a hairline fracture where the suspension arms were underneath and thats what was causing the leak, the fracture would flex when the machine was spinning and let water out. I ended up scrapping the machine ( was dreadful anyway ) and getting a second hand Hotpoint Electronic 800.

I know I look after a guy who got a Beko express 7kg six weeks ago and the engineer has been out three times already!

Ah thats a shame about the new 7kg Beko! My neighbour has never had any problems as such with hers, I was beggining to have faith in the Beko name, even with me having the Miele LOL!

Though to be fair, I have read some pretty bad reviews on Beko machines before! Ive always thought my neighbours lasting so long was just luck! Its out lasted 3 of my washers which were more expensive, the Samsung, Zanussi & the Hoover, which is a bit scary LOL

The sump hose for it still hasnt arrived, so its still leaking away slightly everytime its used! Anyone else got any other ideas on what it could be?

Thanks

Rich

Pump

Richard is it leaking from the front or rear right side. The pump is on the right on most Bekos and is a likely source of a leak when running. Not much to pumps these days they are made by one or two companies in different shapes etc and seem to last not very long before leaking or getting noisy.

Shine a torch under the machine when its running and see if you can see where the water drops to give you a clue to location.
